Rebuilt from the Ground Up – Based on Your Feedback
____
When we acquired InMovement, we knew there were a few things we wanted to improve right away. At the top of that list was the Unsit App.
The original app had good intentions — helping you track movement, stay consistent, and get more out of your workday — but it fell short in execution. Over time, we heard the same themes again and again from customers: bugs, unreliable tracking, and a frustrating user experience.
So we decided to rebuild it from the ground up.
____
Why Start Over From Scratch?
As we dug into customer feedback, the issues became clear:
- Step counts jumping unpredictably (or even going backwards)
- Data resetting in the middle of the day
- Frequent disconnects between the app and treadmill
- Broken goal-setting inputs and inconsistent data tracking
- Login, syncing, and even security issues in some cases
At first, we assumed we could fix these one by one. But the deeper we went, the more it became clear that these weren’t isolated bugs, they were symptoms of a faulty foundation. Fixing individual issues would have helped in the short term, but it wouldn’t have led to a consistently reliable experience.
So instead of continuing to patch the app, we decided to rebuild it properly.
At InMovement, everything we build is meant to feel seamless — to fit naturally into your workday, not interrupt it. The app should be no different.

What’s New in the Unsit App
Over the past several months, we’ve worked closely with users, tested new builds, and rethought the experience from the ground up.
Here’s what’s new:

1. Real-time tracking that’s consistent and reliable
The biggest improvement is simply that the app works the way you expect it to.
Step counts update in real time, your data stays consistent throughout the day, and the connection to your treadmill is much more stable. You can see your steps, speed, time, distance, and calories without having to second-guess whether the numbers are accurate.
- Live step tracking with continuous updates
- Stable connection to your treadmill
- Accurate tracking for time, distance, speed, and calories
2. A simpler, more intuitive interface
The main screen has been simplified so it’s easier to understand at a glance.
Your progress is front and center, with key stats organized into simple cards. Most people will only spend a few seconds here at a time, so the goal was to make it immediately clear where you are without needing to dig around.
- Progress ring for quick visual feedback
- Key stats organized into simple, readable cards
- Cleaner layout with less visual clutter
3. Better goal setting & progress tracking
Setting goals is now much more straightforward.
You can choose targets for steps, time, or distance, and the app tracks your progress in a way that’s easy to follow. There’s also a better view of your active days over the week, which helps if you’re trying to stay consistent.
- Daily goals for steps, time, or distance
- Weekly activity view and active day tracking
- Clear progress indicators throughout the day
4. Better support for shared and multi-user setups
We know a lot of Unsit treadmills are used in offices or shared environments, so we made this experience smoother.
You can save multiple treadmills, switch between them easily, and reconnect without much friction. There’s also a simple way to toggle between personal and shared usage.
- Save and manage multiple treadmills
- One-tap switching between devices
- Personal and shared usage modes
5. Light mode and dark mode
The app now supports both light and dark modes, depending on what you prefer or the environment you’re in.
- Full support for light and dark interfaces
- Designed to be readable in different lighting conditions
6. Live Activity on your lock screen
The app can now show your progress on your lock screen, so you don’t need to open it to check in.
This makes it easier to stay aware of your movement throughout the day without interrupting your workflow.
- Lock screen activity tracking (Live Activity)
- Real-time updates without opening the app

This Is Just the Beginning
We’re proud of this release, but we by no means see it as “finished.”
We’ll continue improving the app based on real feedback from customers, just like we did here. Because we believe the best products aren’t built in isolation, but rather they’re built alongside the people who use them every day.
